New Bag Patterns

We are happy to announce a new line of felted bag patterns available in the store now--Zany Lady's patterns. Come check them out. We already seem to have quite a following for the "pumpkin bag" at left!

We didn't even get a chance to post that the light-up knitting needles were in before they all ran out of the store with happy buyers. More are predicted to arrive soon.

We have most of our classes through September up on the website, but don't worry, crocheters, we do plan to add some crocheting classes!

Come see our beautifully rearranged shelves and don't forget to check the gallery pages often--new things are added, and we are working on updates now (OK, "I" the webmaster am working on them now). Going to try to rearrange them, too!

Even more classes! Even more bargains!

Those of you interested in scheduling beginning knitting series for September have a few more options on the calendar now. You are welcome to sign up at any time for any of our classes. Signing up ahead of time guarantees that your instructor will be there for the class!

And for you bargain hunters--the sale section now has a wide variety of new yarns, and they are now 35% off! Shop now while there is still a wide variety and enough of each color to make what you are interested in creating.

Pat is happy to announce that we will soon be getting in more Brown Sheep yarns, something many customers have asked for. Fall yarns will start to trickle in now, so be sure to drop by and see what's new or visit with your old friends--you are always welcome to sit and knit a while with us.

New Classes for August and September and a Tip!

Check out this lovely knitted steering wheel cover created by one of our customers! Now, that's one happy Honda!

Today we have scheduled many of our classes for August and September, so check the class listing web page to see if what you'd like to take is available. If there's a class you'd like to see on the calendar, just give us a call and make a request--that's how we know what people want!

We have all four of our learn to knit classes on the schedule, plus advanced classes with Patricia K! More will be added in the next day or two.

There has also been ANOTHER needle order! And today we put on the shelves a lot of great colors of worsted weight cotton yarn for our washcloth fans, as well as a couple of new "fall color" yarns in interesting blends. Come in and see what's new.

A Tip!

Celebrated cat breeder and sock knitter Patricia Wilson Pernet gave us permission to share her tip for knowing how to wash your hand-knit socks:

"A little old lady taught me a wonderful way to color code socks. You knit
the last row before decreasing for the toe:

  • RED means hand wash, lay out to dry.
  • YELLOW means machine wash, lay out to dry.
  • NO CODE means machine wash and dry. "

You'd get a lot of socks out of a ball of yellow and a ball of red yarn, and never wash your delicate non-superwash wools the wrong way again! Thanks, Patricia!

Do you have a tip you'd like to share, or a photo of something you knitted along with the Chicks with Sticks or from our yarn? Send the information to webmaster@bluebonnetyarn.com and we will share!
