Cascade, Boxes and Boxes AND...

namaste bagThere are some very exciting things going on in the store right now.

First, as seen in the picture, the wonderful Namaste knitting bags we had all been waiting for finally arrived. Whoo! Get yours soon while there is still a good selection of colors and styles. Rust is a new color, as is "brick red" though it is a more pinkish "brick." We like these bags because there is no velcro so snag your knitting, and they snap shut, not zip, so your yarn doesn't get caught in zippers. The one shown has lots of compartnements, plus a centered zipped one.

Second, on Friday, many immense boxes filled to the brim with Cascade 220 yarn arrived! There are many new colors, including some lovely heathered ones and intriguing neutrals. Plus old favorites, such as LOTS of black. We also got a few skeins of some more rustic Cascade in large skeins, which appears to be naturally sheep colored. Most of the yarn was priced by the end of the day on Saturday, and it will be on the shelves Monday!

Third, your blogger can't remember whether she mentioned the large supply of bag handles that came in a week or so ago. No matter what color your purse or bag, there is now a lovely plastic handle to go with it. I got shiny pink for my entrelac bag. Pat tells us more handles of different kinds are coming, too!

In random notes, we got some beautiful angora/wool yarn and Ella Rae books to go with them--your blogger is already working on a vest from one of them. Cotton is still selling well for summer wear--the Butterfly 10 collection, including the variegated, is getting worked into all sorts of things. We have some new samples to look at, and of course, LOTS of classes! Please drop by, say hi, and show us your projects!

It's Coming: Tiara Tuesdays!

Ooh! Aaah! Get out your tiaras, crowns or reasonable facsimiles, folks, because starting in September Tiara Tuesday is coming! Wear your tiara to the shop and receive a 10% discount, courtesy of our royal proprietress! Let's get creative!

In more yarn shoppe news, we have added a number of classes to our August-September line-up, including Knitting As You Like It (we will get a description of this soon!) on most Thursdays, two sock classes (one with new instructor Amy), the very popular felted bag class and a class on mitered squares. Be there or be a square. There's even more to come in the fall.

If you are interested in an easy-reading version of our class list, visit the classes pages for a link to a MS Word calendar version of the classes. We did try to make it a PDF, but, alas, September came out totally blue (must be a bug in the webmaster's conversion software).

Enjoy this photo of our beloved gnome among the beautiful new Schaeffer yarn, of which more is coming. Speaking of more to come, the Namaste bags have been re-ordered, and there are NEW colors! Be still our stuff-stashing hearts!

See you at Chicks with Sticks--Wednesdays until 8:30 pm!

Purse Handles? Didn't You Want Some??

Of course you want purse handles for all those beautiful felted bags and purses you have been making! Or the ones in your future! Or for a friend! And we have a whole bunch of beautiful new ones for you to enjoy as of today--do come by while the colors and shapes are still plentiful.

Also going very quickly out the door is some absolutely gorgeous Schaeffer hand-dyed feltable yarn, perfect for coordinating with a new handle. Visit soon--last week yarn that came in on Wednesday morning was GONE by the end of Chicks with Sticks!

There is also a selection of Butterfly cotton yarn in variegated colors--there are still some really festive ones left, and our designers are working on some fun new patterns to use with them.

Finally, we have added four beginning crochet classes to our August-September schedule, so if you are interested in the latest fiber craze, sign up now!

We hear rumors of lots of creative new classes and some new blog features coming up this fall, so make sure to check this space.
