Are you a chick with one or more sticks?

If you're a knitter, crocheter or other needle craftsperson (and you could be a dude, not a chick, if you wished), please consider visiting us on most Wednesday evenings, when we open the store until around 8:30 for a relaxing round or two of conversational stitching known as Chicks with Sticks. Make new friends, see old friends, and get help if you are stuck on something! There's lots of fun for everyone! If in doubt, phone the shop to make sure we're meeting, but we'll be here most Wednesdays this summer.

As the photo shows, we have a wide range of ages and stitching stages represented each week--all are welcome!

Update on Needles

Yay, those new needles came in much more quickly than anticipated, so if we didn't have your size or type last time you were in, come on over and see if we do now. All we are waiting on in the needle dept. now are the Addi Turbos. Lots of new Bryspun needles, Susan Bates crochet and knitting needles, and lovely bamboo products are here. Plus all kinds of cable needles and darning needles and the ever popular stitch markers.

We also got some wonderful new patterns, including a new brand of easy yet lovely patterns, so ask your favorite Bluebonnet staff person to show you what's new!

What's coming up? Why, some very exciting knitting needles that light up, so you can knit on long vacation car trips! We will let you know when they arrive.

Holiday Note, and Needles

Just a note to let you all know we will be closed Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4 to celebrate the Independence Day holiday. Enjoy your long weekend!

And in good news, we put in a big order for needles and such, so if you have been looking for a particular size or type, you'll soon be able to find it! We'll let you know when new items are in.

We Knitted in Public, Sort of

It was a bit warm to Knit in Public outside yesterday, but we did knit a lot in the store, which is a public place, and we enjoyed cookies, courtesy of Fran! Thanks to everyone who came by, shared past projects, worked on new projects and made friends.

Here's a picture of the window to the shop, where the enterprising Bluebonnet staff had put up lots of fun signs inviting folks to knit in public and learn to knit if they are "future knitters."

Don't forget, you can join us on most Wednesday evenings for "Chicks with Sticks," and knit, crochet or stitch with a group of new friends young, old and in between!

Knit in Public Day is TOMORROW

Join the Bluebonnet Yarn Shoppe staff and friends as we gather to celebrate Knit in Public Day in the public spaces around the shop. Show the world you are proud of your favorite hobby. And hey, crocheters and other stitchers are VERY welcome, too! Join us any time between 10 am and 2 pm.

Don't know how to knit? We have a beginning knitting class from 10:30-12:30 in the store!
